Vladimir Verkhoshinskiy Joins HSE University Board of Trustees
Alfa-Bank CEO Vladimir Verkhoshinskiy joined the HSE University Board of Trustees. Earlier, HSE University and Alfa-Bank signed a cooperation agreement, which stipulates the launch of joint educational programmes and the implementation of joint research projects, events, workshops, and internships for students.
Additionally, Alfa-Bank has created an independent department focused on practical training for students. The department staff organises special courses and career development events, and supervises students’ work on term papers and theses. The main goal of the department is to reduce the gap between degree programmes and market requirements through the integration of Alfa-Bank's experience into existing educational programmes.
‘HSE University and Alfa-Bank have a long-standing partnership. We value the progression of our cooperation and are confident the experience with Alfa-Bank will ensure that our students are even more in demand in the labour market. With one of the largest financial institutions in the country on the Board of Trustees, we will be able to launch new joint projects and contribute to the development of our university,’ said HSE University Rector Nikita Anisimov.
Alfa-Bank participates in HSE University infrastructure projects, creating comfortable co-learning spaces for students. For example, the university campuses in Moscow and St. Petersburg have co-working facilities for project and business communication among students.
In addition to HSE University, Alfa-Bank actively cooperates with HSE Lyceum. The Alfa Campus Junior project, launched at this site, is a series of practice-oriented courses in the disciplines of project and product management, and Data Science.
As result of this partnership, more than 15,000 students took part in joint activities of the university and the bank.
Vladimir Verkhoshinskiy
‘Joining the Board of Trustees is a unique opportunity for us to promote the development of fintech education in Russia. At HSE University, students do not receive abstract knowledge, but rather an understanding of real processes in financial markets. Upon graduating, they will enter the labour market with the ability to compete well with experienced professionals. Many of our employees are graduates of HSE University. It is important for Alfa-Bank to develop existing educational programmes and create projects for students and teachers,’ said Vladimir Verkhoshinskiy.
