22%
of teachers are involved in tutoring.
In recent years, more teachers have been offering private lessons. A year ago, 19.6% of teachers were involved in tutoring, and two years ago, the figure was 17.6%.
This practice is most common in Moscow (26%), in urban-type settlements (30%) and in major cities (36%).
These data were obtained during a survey of schoolteachers that was conducted as part of a Monitoring of Education Markets and Organizations (MEMO) study in the autumn and winter of the 2014-2015 school year. A newsletter on the research will be published in the second half of 2015.
