On November 15, HSE University's Cultural Centre held a classical guitar concert featuring the world-renowned guitarist Artyom Dervoed. The event was organised by the HSE Centre of Music Projects, with Kristina Agaronyan, the centre's manager and graduate of the Tchaikovsky Moscow Conservatory, hosting the evening.

In early September, Stanislav Korchagin, winner of the third prize in the 17th International Tchaikovsky Competition, gave a concert at the Small Hall of the HSE Cultural Centre. The event opened the new season by HSE Centre of Music Projects.

In February 2023, the HSE University Cultural Centre hosted the festival ‘Colour of Asia: From Riyadh to Tokyo’ coordinated by the university’s Korean Club. A total of 24 student organisations took part in arranging the festival, including national, environmental, and charity clubs.
Dancing, Quizzes, and a Space Dog: HSE University Celebrates Student Night 2023
This year, HSE University started celebrating Student Day on the evening of January 24, when the traditional Digital Night festival kicked off at Pokrovka. For the first time since 2019, it was held in the pre-pandemic format: the quizzes, board games, lectures, dancing and master classes didn't stop until 6 am.
Wushu, Tekken and Fortune-telling by the Book of Changes: Lunar New Year Celebrated at HSE University
This New Year, according to the Asian calendar, arrived on January 22nd. On this day, HSE Cultural Centre brought together Chinese, Korean, and Japanese cultures. To the sounds of Asian songs and Korean drums, the guests tried their hand at calligraphy, studied jianzhi and origami, played Ttakji and Go, ate traditional cookies and expelled evil spirits. The Lunar New Year at the university was organized by the School of Asian Studies and the HSE Chinese Club.
HSE University Holds New Year [EXTRA] Celebration
On December 19, the atrium of the HSE University Pokrovka building was transformed into a large-scale festive fair with a lectern, master classes, a photo zone, photo booth and other activities. The HSE University Cultural Centre also hosted a lively party with a disco and paper show. Let’s Play Some Christmas Music: How Carols Differ from Noëls
Christmas music has a long and at turns unexpected history. During an online marathon in HSE’s virtual music parlour, musicians performed Christmas carols and festive medieval and Baroque songs. In addition, guests learnt what the TV show ‘In the World of Animals’ has in common with Christmas.
Beethoven Online: HSE University Resumes Saturday Concerts
An online event dedicated to the 250th anniversary of Ludwig van Beethoven was held as part of HSE University’s A University Open to the City project. The event’s online format made it possible to include not only musical fragments, but also detailed comments from experts. In particular, they discussed whether our current times under the conditions of the pandemic have anything in common with the time in which the great composer lived.
