Laboratory for Comparative Social Research of the National Research University Higher School of Economics has organized the 3d LCSR Summer School on “Multilevel Confirmatory Factor Analysis (MCFA) and Multilevel Structural Equation Modeling (MSEM) in MPLUS”. The main course in the LCSR Summer school will be held by professor Hermann Dülmer. Researchers from Italy have been working on a joint project with the HSE’s Professor Olga Demidova looking at “The Political Economy of Youth Unemployment”. Professor Enrico Marelli, and Prof. Maria Laura Parisi, Economists at the University of Brescia and Elina De Simone from the University of Naples Parthenope, answered the HSE news portal’s questions about their research into youth unemployment in Russia and Italy.
Strengthening Cooperation between BRICS Countries in Research
From June 24-25 Professor Mariano Laplane, President of the Center for Strategic Studies and Management in Science, Technology and Innovation (CGEE), Brazil, was on a two-day visit at the HSE. As a result, an Agreement of Understanding was signed, which defined the areas for further cooperation between the Center and the HSE.

An international academic conference ‘Street Art in the Changing City: Theoretical Perspectives’ takes place on June 7-8, 2013, at the HSE. The event has been organized by the ‘Graffiti and Street Art in the Cultural Cityscape’ research and study group, and the Poletayev Institute for Theoretical and Historical Studies in the Humanities. Experts in modern urban studies will participate in the conference. Keynote speakers are geographer Luke Dickens (Open University of London, United Kingdom) and sociologist Andrea Mubi Brighenti (University of Trento, Italy).
